Buyer – SE London/ Kent– Scientific Instrumentation

About the Company:

We are looking for an experienced buyer from the manufacturing to an established and expanding instrumentation company.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business goals
• Identify and evaluate new suppliers offering innovative solutions
• Manage supply risks and communicate issues impacting operations
• Drive cost savings and mitigate price increases
• Create and maintain supplier agreements
• Monitor supplier performance and report on KPIs
• Work closely with Planning to support on-time delivery
• Partner with Engineering to support NPD delivery

Requirements:

• CIPS qualification or Diploma (desirable, not essential)
• Strong supply chain risk-mitigation and negotiation skills
• Experience within a manufacturing environment
• Hands-on MRP/ERP system knowledge
• Track record of delivering results in a similar role
• Confident working with forecasts and safety stock
• Strong IT, commercial, and financial awareness
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Proactive, driven, and eager to develop and progress
