Job Description:

Our client is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Marketing Event Manager to join our team at our California site. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing marketing events and trade shows to promote our genomics instruments and reagents. As a key member of our marketing team, you will play a critical role in enhancing brand visibility, generating leads, and supporting sales efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Event Planning: Plan and manage all aspects of marketing events, including trade shows, conferences, seminars, workshops, and user meetings. Coordinate logistics, timelines, budgets, and vendor relationships to ensure successful execution.
  • Content Development: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop compelling event content, presentations, collateral materials, and promotional assets. Ensure messaging aligns with brand guidelines and effectively communicates product features and benefits.
  • Attendee Engagement: Create engaging experiences to attract and engage event attendees. Develop interactive activities, demonstrations, and hands-on experiences to showcase our products and solutions. Cultivate relationships with attendees to generate leads and drive sales opportunities.
  • Lead Generation: Implement lead generation strategies to capture and qualify leads at events. Collaborate with sales teams to develop lead follow-up plans and track lead conversion metrics. Leverage event data to analyze ROI and optimize future event strategies.
  • On-site Management: Oversee on-site event logistics, including booth setup, staffing, signage, AV equipment, catering, and shipping. Coordinate with venue staff and vendors to ensure smooth execution and resolve any issues or challenges as they arise.
  • Post-event Evaluation: Conduct post-event evaluations to assess the success of each event and identify areas for improvement. Analyze feedback, attendance metrics, and lead data to measure ROI and effectiveness of event marketing initiatives.
  • Budget Management: Manage event budgets effectively, tracking expenses and ensuring alignment with overall marketing goals and objectives. Negotiate contracts and vendor agreements to optimize costs and maximize value.


  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience in event management, preferably in the life sciences or biotechnology industry.
  • Proven track record of planning and executing successful marketing events, including trade shows, conferences, and seminars.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for developing innovative event experiences and driving engagement.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for events and conferences as needed.
