Senior/ Product Development Engineer – SE London/ Kent Border – Analytical Sciences
About the Company:
We are looking for a senior product development engineer with optical development experience and experience with medical devices to join an expanding and established scientific instrument/ analytical products company on the Southeast London/ Kent border. This role is based in the innovation team and focusses on product design and development.
Responsibilities:
- Lead multi-disciplinary design, development and testing of products.
- Act as technical expert and SME on innovation and EPD projects.
- Assist with the delivery of for solutions and IP’s.
- Develop expertise with coatings, advanced manufacturing methods and process engineering.
- Leading projects.
- Coaching, mentoring and leadership of junior members of the team.
- Ensuring products meet requirements.
- Qualification and verification of products.
- Producing and maintaining documentation.
Requirements:
- Educated to degree level in Optical Engineering, Physics, Mechatronics, Electronics or related subject.
- Experience in Opto-Electromechanics or Opto- Mechanics or Opto- Electronics.
- An understanding of MOEMA, MEMS and/or microfluidics.
- Experience with simulation software.
- Experience in product development from the medical device or biomedical engineering industry.
- Excellent communication skills.
