Kinetica are partnered with a Food Contract Manufacturer and Distributor in Los Angeles, CA on a Vice President of Supply Chain opening.
The Vice President of Supply Chain holds a pivotal role in spearheading the transformation and advancement of supply chain operations to achieve exceptional performance. This position entails both strategic oversight and hands-on leadership of various facets within the supply chain domain, including supply planning, demand planning, customer service, import/export, and transportation. Moreover, a fundamental aspect of this leadership position involves fostering innovation and optimizing technological solutions to drive efficiency.
Primary Duties:
- Develop and execute a visionary strategy and business processes to elevate supply chain performance to new heights.
- Pioneer best practices in supply chain management, encompassing system integration, inventory control, demand planning, and digital capabilities.
- Streamline operations to enhance the customer experience through timely supply delivery and improve key supply chain metrics such as cost, quality, and service.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and external suppliers to deploy robust supply chain processes across various departments and business functions.
- Support business expansion efforts by establishing supply chain practices that ensure consistent, top-tier customer service, fill rates, and inventory management.
- Cultivate strong relationships with customers and vendors to drive profitable growth in alignment with business objectives.
- Make informed decisions promptly, reflecting a cohesive approach that aligns with business strategies and fosters teamwork across the organization.
- Maintain open communication channels to promptly relay changes, market conditions, competitive insights, and achievements to relevant stakeholders.
- Determine organizational structure and resource requirements aligned with the functional operating model, while attracting top talent capable of driving success.
- Foster the growth and development of team members to cultivate a high-performing workforce.
- Conduct talent assessments to devise effective talent management strategies and actions.
- Establish Key Performance Indicator (KPI) objectives aligned with regional and global business goals, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in reporting.
- Monitor and analyze KPIs and operating costs to identify necessary actions for goal attainment.
- Lead stakeholder meetings to promote transparency in measurements and devise strategies to achieve objectives.
- Effectively communicate performance, strategies, and actions to stakeholders as necessary.
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Supply Chain, Distribution, or Logistics; MBA preferred.
- Extensive experience encompassing supply chain, product supply, distribution, transportation, and planning.
- Preferred certifications from APICS: Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), or other relevant certifications.
- Advanced proficiency in ERP systems, such as SAP.
- Willingness and capability to travel up to 20% of the time, if necessary.
