3D CAD Solidworks Technician

CAD Technician – SE London – 3 – 6 Month Contract

About the Company:

We are looking for an experienced CAD Technician/ Engineer to work onsite at a scientific equipment company reviewing and updating SolidWorks 3D models and 2D drawings on a 3 – 6 months temporary contract. 

Responsibilities:

• Review and verify the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of existing SolidWorks 3D models.
• Update or remodel components and assemblies as needed to meet current design and production standards.
• Ensure 2D manufacturing drawings comply with company specifications, industry standards, and GD&T requirements.
• Liaise with stakeholders to clarify requirements, resolve discrepancies, and incorporate feedback.
• Provide drawing exports, visualisations, and technical data to support SOP and work instruction development.
• Maintain strict drawing revision control and ensure document integrity within the PDM system.
• Contribute to design improvement and process optimisation initiatives.

Requirements:

• Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks, including assemblies, configurations, and detailed drawing creation.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances, and GD&T principles.
• Proven experience in producing and updating 2D manufacturing drawings from 3D models.
• Familiarity with revision control and document management systems (e.g., SolidWorks PDM).
• Strong technical communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.
• High attention to detail, with the ability to work independently.
• Basic understanding of SOP/work instruction structures (advantageous).
