Business Development Lead – DACH

Biotech | Neuroscience | Preclinical Drug Discovery
I am currently partnering with an innovative biotechnology company that is transforming neuroscience research through proprietary, human-based preclinical models. Their platforms are helping pharmaceutical and biotech partners de-risk and accelerate therapeutic development, particularly in neuroscience and drug discovery.
They are looking to appoint an experienced Business Development Lead to drive commercial growth across the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland). This is a remote position with both strategic and hands-on responsibilities, suited for a candidate with a strong scientific background (ideally in neuroscience, pharmacology, or biomedical science) and a proven track record in business development or technical sales within the life sciences sector.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute the commercial strategy across the DACH region.

Identify and convert new business opportunities with pharmaceutical, biotech, and academic institutions.

Manage the full sales cycle—from lead generation through to deal closure.

Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.

Collaborate with internal scientific and technical teams to deliver tailored solutions.

Represent the company at scientific conferences, trade shows, and other industry events.

Monitor industry trends and provide market insights and competitive intelligence.

Consistently meet or exceed revenue targets.
Candidate Profile:

Advanced degree (BSc, MSc, or PhD) in Neuroscience, Pharmacology, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field.

Demonstrated success in business development, technical sales, or account management within life sciences.

Background in preclinical R&D or neuroscience platforms is highly advantageous.

Established network within the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors in the DACH region.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.

Self-motivated, independent, and comfortable with regional travel.
