Field Application Scientist – Germany
Location: Remote, Germany
Industry: Biotechnology | Single-cell Multi-Omics | Precision Medicine
I’m currently partnering with a pioneering U.S.-based biotechnology company that is transforming the way we understand and treat cancer at the cellular level. Their proprietary single-cell multi-omics platform, built on advanced microfluidics technology, is enabling global leaders in oncology research and therapeutic development to gain critical insights that were previously inaccessible.
As the company continues to grow its presence across Europe, they are seeking a Field Application Scientist (FAS) to support customers throughout Germany. This is an excellent opportunity for a scientifically-driven professional with experience in NGS and customer-facing technical support to join a company at the forefront of single-cell innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the technical expert for the company’s platform, supporting both pre-sales and post-sales activities within Germany.
- Deliver product seminars, run customer demonstrations, and provide hands-on training on experimental design, sample preparation, and data analysis.
- Assist customers with interpreting complex datasets, including bioinformatics workflows related to variant calling and single-cell sequencing.
- Act as the critical link between customers and internal teams, including Sales, Product Management, and R&D.
- Capture and communicate Voice of Customer insights to influence ongoing product development.
- Support company presence at scientific conferences, workshops, and other field-based initiatives.
- Document all customer interactions and support activities in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce).
- Travel up to 60% within Germany to support customer visits and events.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Bioinformatics, or a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience, or
- Master’s degree; PhD preferred.
- Strong foundation in molecular biology, cancer biology, NGS technologies, and data analysis workflows.
- Proven ability to deliver engaging technical presentations and scientific training.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally in a customer-facing role.
- Fluent in both German and English.
- Residing in Germany and familiar with the regional academic and biopharma landscape.
Preferred:
- Prior experience in a Field Application Scientist or technical support role within the life sciences industry.
- Familiarity with single-cell technologies or multi-omics platforms.
- Experience with bioinformatics pipelines or data visualization/analysis platforms.
- Understanding of public-sector funding mechanisms and institutional procurement processes in Germany.
This is a unique opportunity to combine deep scientific knowledge with customer engagement, helping researchers unlock the full potential of single-cell insights. If you're passionate about supporting cutting-edge science and enjoy working closely with customers, I’d be happy to tell you more.
